any summer 2000 or 2001 alumni out there?
Hey! I did my CP in the summers of 2000 and 2001. I work in ODF at the Studios in Summer 2000 (and lived at Vista Way). In the summer of 2001, I worked in merchandise at the Animation Courtyard at the Studios and lived at Chatham. Just wondering if anyone out there worked at either place during those times.

Disney Professional Interns
Hey guys!

I did my first CP during Spring Advantage 05 as a hospitality intern at the front desk of the Caribbean Beach Resort... and LOVED it! I went back this past summer 06 to work there again during the summer alumni program. I came back to NY for a whole semester before I decided I needed to go back down to Disney again, so I applied for a Professional Internship. I was looking on lj for a professional internships community but wasn't able to find one so I've started one for all of us that are interested in doing a professional internship or knowing more about it. Here's the link to it for anyone that's interested:

Disney ranked No.1 in BusinessWeek
Another good reason to participate in the Walt Disney World College Program. To apply or for more information, visit: www.wdwcollegeprogram.com.

The Walt Disney Company ranked No. 1 in
BusinessWeek's 'Best Place to Launch a Career'

According to the Sept. 18 issue of BusinessWeek, "Disney's strong on-campus recruiting, solid benefits and collaborative culture helped put the entertainment giant at the head of the BusinessWeek ranking, which identifies top employers for new college graduates."

BusinessWeek, which analyzed feedback from students, college career counselors, and employers to compile the list said, "Disney's place at the pinnacle is also a testament to its popularity with students, but its desirability goes well beyond the company's instant name recognition."

BusinessWeek also used data from a Universum Communications survey of more than 37,000 U.S. undergrads ranking the most desirable employers. The Walt Disney Company was named the "No. 1 Ideal Employer" in their survey.

BusinessWeek also noted the importance of internships in recruiting at top companies. "Increasingly, the most popular and effective recruiting strategy is the use of internships. To identify promising recruits early and to sell them on a company at the same time, more employers are looking to their intern pool to fill full-time slots. Among employers that supplied internship data, nearly half increased their reliance on interns since 2004; at six companies on the list, more than 50% of the 2006 entry-level hires were former interns."

Alumni Gentleladies and Gentlemens-
Okay, sorry if this is a little out of place. I realize this is a Disney Internationalish thing compared to Disney College, but I'm sure you knowledgeable (and generous) folks can answer a few questions and concerns for me :O

I applied for the Disney International Program (through the Candadian application Cruise Line section) about a month(??) ago, but I also phoned the Disney hotline asking if it was possible to enter the Entertainment wing of things as an international worker bee. They said it was entirely possible (and I've got my eye on being a Face Character - of course, being any other costumed character could be really ((hot and stuffy)) super fun!) and I left it at that. I read on the website that Canadian auditions were in Calgary (waaaay too far from me, boo) so I sort of forgot about it.

AND THEN, I got a phonecall from Disney, but of course I wasn't here. Ooof course. So I'm going to call back tomorrow. But until then, my heart is racing a million a second, my palms are sweaty, and I'm have serious delusions of seeing smiling children and living in a nutso crazy fast-paced Disney-heaven! I would *totally* bus halfway across Canada for auditions. I'M THAT INSANE.

So, please discuss:

The odds of being a Face Character
How crazy I am to want this with every inch of my souuuuul
Auditions: HOW TOUGH ARE THEY D:,
The odds of actually getting in
Canadians, eh?
Or just International Cast Members (know any? What jobs do they have? Do they jam with the college kids?)
What this phone call is probably actually about (thanks for applying, BUT NOOO... ACCESS DENIED! HAVE A NICE DAY)
Working on the Cruise Lines? Good, bad, meh?

ANYTHING ELSE BECAUSE I LOVE KNOWING THINGS :D

WHEE!

Also, cross posted :O

Professional Internship advice?
Hi! This is me planning way in advance but figured when it comes to this question, you all would be the best one's to ask! I'm currently a fifth year senior at my school, long story short, what I really want to do is and what I am currently applying to do, is a professional internship back at Disney for the spring. What I'm wondering is.....is there anyone out there who has done a professional internship? or is planning on doing a professional internship? Any advice on finding housing? or maybe even roommates? I'm still way on the beginning of this road for figuring things out, but its never too early to start planning for a possible future.

Thanks all!

Need some help!
Okay. This is the deal. In order to take my series 6 exam i have to fill out like 4 dozen forms. Anyways...one of them wants my addresses for every place i've lived in the past 5 years. While figuring out the newer ones was easy, i cannot for the life of me remember the address for my apartment when i was a CP at Disney.

This is where you guys come in -- i know that you are former/current CP's & might actually remember the address or be able to get that information for me.

I do remember that i did live in Chatham, in Apt. 5204. (So building 5).

If anyone has the actual physical address, i'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!!

Thanks everyone! Got it!

I'm very interested in the Disney College Program and have a bunch of questions to ask.
1. What is it like?
2. Is the work load particularly heavy?
2a. Was it like regular school (a bunch of classes, papers, etc)?
3. Afterwards, how beneficial was it?
4. What are the internships like?
5. How many credits did you have before you applied?
6. Do you really just apply to get in? I imagine it would be very competitive...
6a. What kind of things do they look for on the application (I plan on doing things with entertainment-singing).
7. Do you continue taking classes with the college you went to before hand, or do they kind of just pass you onto Disney?

Anything else?
Thank you so much!

Help on ending my program ?
ok so i have now been on the CP prgram since May 2005, i was having a lot of fun and decided to extend my program until this coming May. But of course in the course of life some events back home have changed and this extemstion is just not working out so well for me, I am ready to go back home but i would like to be able to keep my status open to work for the company later on possiably. Does anyone have any idea of how i can go home and still keep a good record card? What does self terming involve when they look at you in the future ?
i want to make sure i consider all options before ending.

Whether its true or not, I got this from a friend on MySpace and it made me laugh.

I am a 2005 (as well as 2002 & 2003) CP and am damn proud of it!!!

I am a Disney CP. Yes I lived in Orlando, and yes, it's shady and skeezy - but just thinking about it makes me smile. We dont call it Orlando, it's O-town or 32821, get it right. We go to the parks everyday, and make damn sure we get backdoored onto the rides. And yes, getting backdoored is the best thing ever. We go to Wal-Mart all the time for no reason, and bitch b/c Target has a closing time. We could be from Alaska or Maine, but we still went home saying "ya'll." We know what TTC, DAK, PI and all those fun things stand for. We've had to pop our trunks for security. We know what Vista Lay means. We compare our ID pictures. We love going to the Vista Pool, but we'd NEVER go in the hot tub. We've been to IHOP's at least 3 times a week, after 3 a.m. with at least 10 other people. My car STILL has sand in it from Cocoa Beach. We ruled PI on thursday nights. We have friends in almost every country. At least 100 of us can never work for Disney again because we got fired for drinking in our apts or stealing stupid Disney stuff. We've almost been hit by a Dynamic bus at least 5 times. We still can't figure out what language the bus drivers are speaking in. We like to pretend that we understand (fluently) every language spoken to us. Quizno's, Chik-filla, Wendy's and McDonald's.. thats it. We know what alpha-unit means, and if our friends at home get hurt, we always ask them 3 times if they need assistance. We could go to Starbucks... while shopping at Target. We dated or made out with at least one person, whether we liked them or not. I still have a ZILLION of those stupid mickey stickers. I've been to Mickey's Retreat on more than one occassion. We point with 2 fingers, not one and magical moments and take 5's make me smile (and yes, we know the difference). I am an 05 CP, and im damn proud of it. I hope to God you have a magical day.

I'm finishing up with my packing before I leave on Tuesday for Florida and I was just wondering...how much closet space is there? And are there like, any dressers or anything? Basically what I need to know is how much space for clothes do we get in the apartments? Thanks in advance!

cp extension - entertainment audition
So I have an entertainment audition today (the 8th) and my ride backed out on me.

Do our busses take us to where they are? is it just at animal kingdom costzooming? I'm rather confused on the location.

Here's the address

Disney's Animal Kingdom Rehearsal Facility
3271 Sherberth Road
Kissimmee, FL 34747

Can anyone better inform me?
